International Youth Camp 2008
16 July - 22 July 2008
We are grateful to announce that we are currently accepting applications for the Doves Olympic Movement International Youth Camp 2008, which will take place in Agros on 16-22 of July, 2008. The Doves Project is based on the notion that Olympism (defined as a blend of sport, arts, culture and education) can facilitate peace, understanding and build strong bonds of friendships and collaboration among cross-cultural and diverse populations.
The sports activities of the camp will include soccer, basketball, volleyball and martial arts, while the educational activities will raise awareness on several issues including among others: human rights, environmental issues, technology, health and well-being, and conflict management. During the camp, all participants will have the opportunity to reflect in the theme areas of the Doves Project and suggest future initiatives. On the last days of the camp, the participants will develop action plans that will be divided into different thematic areas.
Outstanding participants will receive scholarships to participate the following academic year to the World Scholar Athlete Games that take place at the Rhode Island, in the USA.

Waiver of Responsibility
The participants of the 2008 camp will be chosen by the selection committee based on following recruitment criteria
- equal opportunity
- balanced gender
- geographical and age representation
- leadership
- commitment to the goals of the Doves Project
- interest on the theme areas and the activities of the Doves Project
